01.   Apostasy.

Meaning: The act of leaving behind, or straying from, your religious or political beliefs or your principles.

02.   Appal.

Meaning: 

 to shock or amaze in a negative way.

03. Apparel.

Meaning: anything you wear to protect, wrap, or beautify your body.

04. Asperse.

Meaning: To sprinkle water on, as in baptizing;

To spread false or damaging charges against;

05. Asphyxia.

Meaning: loss of consciousness as a result of too little oxygen and too much carbon dioxide in the blood:
